Southeast Construction delivered the complete structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and demolition program for the Heavy Media Circuits 1, 2, and 3 upgrades at our clients Esterhazy operation, integrating both the Derrick/Cage-Paktor retrofit scope and the Hydrofloat brownfield installation into a unified multi-discipline execution effort.

Working entirely within live brownfield mill conditions, our team performed the demolition of existing DSM Screens, feed tanks, MIDDS impactors, drag conveyors, centrifuge infrastructure, and all associated piping and chutework necessary to prepare for the redesigned process arrangement. The installation scope included setting new Derrick Screens, Cage-Paktors, Screen Feed Distributors, Centrifuge assemblies, Diverter Gates, Dryer Feed Transfer Drag Conveyors (ES26072, ES26082), and all related mechanical components across the three circuits.

Southeast Construction executed extensive structural modifications from Elev. 1674' to 1726', including new beams, grating, platforms, monorails, equipment support steel, concrete curbs, elevated slab infills, penetrations, and support systems required for new equipment and process flow changes. Complementary structural work included the installation of new chute supports, hangers, and support hardware for piping and drag systems.

Our piping and chutework scope encompassed fabrication, supply, and installation of all new process lines—armadillo piping assemblies, 8" distributor lines, Hydrofloat brine return and tails lines, reagent services (frother, flotation oil, amine, depressant), and multiple HDPE and basalt-lined systems—along with all specified tie-ins and field-fit modifications to seamlessly integrate new equipment with legacy systems.

The electrical and instrumentation component included installing new E&I systems for Derrick Screens and Cage-Paktors, complete with cable tray extensions, cable runs, glanding, bonding, labeling, instrumentation junction boxes, and full terminations in accordance with Mosaic cable schedules. Southeast Construction also provided full Stage-2 E&I commissioning support.

All work was completed under shutdown windows with strict adherence to Mosaic LOTO, TRAP, QA/QC Level-3 requirements, and detailed construction sequencing. Rigging and temporary works planning supported all multi-elevation installations within the operating potash facility.

This combined project demonstrates Southeast Construction’s ability to execute large-scale, tightly coordinated brownfield upgrades across multiple process circuits—delivering structural, mechanical, piping, and E&I retrofits with exceptional safety performance, technical quality, and schedule discipline.
