In 2023, SEC was awarded a critical path turnaround project for the replacement of our client’s coarse ore bin. SEC completed the welding & installation of the new bin flange pre shutdown so that the accelerated installation timeline could be met. During shutdown, the existing bin was demolished in sections and the new bin was installed in five different sections. Once the new sections were in place, all welding and touch up painting was completed, and the dust skirting was installed before being turned back over to our client within the required shutdown window.
